About Just Me, Please
“Just me, please” is what you say when you walk into a restaurant alone. In Chinese it is 我一個人 — and in Taiwan, it is usually met with a smile and a seat at the counter.
Taiwan is one of the easiest places in Asia to eat alone. Individual hot pot, breakfast shops and Taiwanese buffets (you pay by the plate; they are not all-you-can-eat) are made for one person. The hard part for visitors is knowing which places are comfortable solo, how to order from a Chinese-only menu, and whether you need cash.
Just Me, Please is a guide to places we have checked for exactly that. Every place has a solo score, a check level and step-by-step help with ordering or visiting. We are based in Taiwan and read Chinese-language sources directly: shop pages, booking sites, official visitor information, news and local forums.
How we work
- We only record facts we can check, and we write everything in our own words.
- Every place we list is backed by at least two independent sources, and at least one of them is not sponsored.
- Sponsored posts are used for facts, never for opinions.
- Payments never change a solo score. See how we score.
