A small tofu pudding (douhua) shop a block south of the old Nishi Honganji temple grounds in Ximending. You get one bowl of silky tofu pudding in sweet syrup with toppings you choose. It's a cheap, easy dessert stop on your own, with a small seating area.

How to order, step by step
- Find the shop at No. 1, Guiyang Street Section 2, a block south of the Nishi Honganji site. This is the Guiyang Street branch. A second branch on Hanzhong Street has different hours
- Read the menu posted at the front - it may have English
- Order one bowl at the counter and choose two toppings. Extra toppings cost a little more
- Pay in cash
- Eat in the small seating area or take it away. Don't count on a restroom
What to order solo: The house tofu pudding with two toppings, such as taro balls or peanuts. It was about NT$69 in mid-2026. Some toppings can sell out late in the evening.
Best time to go alone: Mid-afternoon on a weekday, after 12:30. Toppings run low late in the evening.
