Taiwan Railway's own boxed lunches, sold from counters inside Taipei Main Station. The classic pork chop rice box costs NT$100 and is made to be eaten on the train. Takeaway only: there are no tables at the counters.

Store 1 (1st floor, West Gate 3) opens 09:30. Google lists it until 18:30, and TRA's list says 19:00. The B1 counters 3 and 5 open 10:30-14:00 and 16:00-18:30. Popular boxes may sell out before closing.

How to order, step by step
- Inside Taipei Main Station, go to the west side of the 1st-floor hall near West Gate 3. Two railway bento counters stand side by side there
- Look at the sample boxes and the price list. Most boxes are NT$100-130
- Point to the box you want, say how many, and pay at the counter
- If the 1st-floor counters are sold out, there are more TRA bento counters on B1, by the high-speed rail ticket area and next to the TRA exit gates
- Take it with you for your train ride. The counters have no seating
What to order solo: The classic pork chop bento (排骨便當), NT$100 in October 2026. Vegetarians can choose a plant-based box that contains egg (NT$100) or the five-grain vegetarian box (NT$120). Limited-edition boxes cost more.
Best time to go alone: Before noon or mid-afternoon. Popular boxes can sell out around lunchtime, and some counters close between 14:00 and 16:00.
