Chen Dong Herbal Pork Rib Soup (Raohe Night Market)

陳董藥燉排骨(饒河夜市攤位) · show this name to taxi drivers

A stall in the middle of Raohe Street that sells only three things: pork ribs or lamb stewed in a dark Chinese-herb broth, and braised pork rice. It has its own small tables, so a bowl of soup and a bowl of rice make an easy sit-down dinner for one. It was on the MICHELIN Bib Gourmand list in 2018 and 2019.

How to order, step by step

  1. Find the stall in the middle of the street in front of No. 160 - not the shop on Bade Road
  2. At busy times, check there is a free seat before you order
  3. Order at the stall: herbal pork ribs or lamb, plus braised pork rice if you want it
  4. Pay in cash
  5. Eat at the stall's tables and leave your bowl there when you finish
What to order solo: Herbal pork rib soup with a small bowl of braised pork rice. The lamb soup has a stronger flavor. Prices are on the board at the stall. The broth tastes strongly of Chinese herbs.
Best time to go alone: Soon after 16:30, before the 19:00-22:00 rush when seats are hard to get. Closed on Tuesdays.
