Feng Qing Yang Snack Shop
丰清揚小吃店 · show this name to taxi drivers
A small neighborhood shop in Xinbeitou known for egg fried rice, wontons and hot and sour soup, often compared to Din Tai Fung at a fraction of the price. One plate of fried rice is one portion, so it is an easy meal alone after a hot spring visit. Tables are tight and often shared, and there is usually a line at mealtimes.

How to order, step by step
- Arrive close to 11:00 or 17:00 to avoid the longest wait
- If there is a line, wait outside until staff call you in - expect to share a table
- Fill in the Chinese order sheet: write the quantity next to each dish and mark that you are eating in. A translation app helps, as there is no English menu
- Hand the sheet to staff and wait - everything is cooked to order
- Take chopsticks and spoons yourself from the self-service area
- Have cash ready, and ask staff whether to pay before or after eating
What to order solo: A plate of scallion egg fried rice (about NT$80) or pork chop egg fried rice (about NT$175). Add a bowl of wontons (about NT$95) or hot and sour soup (about NT$65) if you are hungry.
Best time to go alone: Right at opening on a weekday, 11:00 for lunch or 17:00 for dinner. It closes between 14:00 and 17:00.
