How to visit, step by step

  1. From Yuanshan station (R13), walk about 10 minutes, or pair it with Bao'an Temple across the street
  2. Walk in through the gate. Entry is free and no booking is needed
  3. Keep your voice down and don't touch the displays. Bikes and scooters are not allowed inside
  4. Head for the main Dacheng Hall, then the side halls and courtyards
  5. It is closed on Mondays but open on national holidays. The grand ceremony on 28 September changes how the grounds are used that day
Don't miss: The main Dacheng Hall and its quiet courtyard, a good contrast to busy Bao'an Temple.
Best time to go alone: A weekday afternoon. Open until 21:00, so it also works as an evening stop.
