08:30–15:00 (Fri–Sun) · Closed Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu
Open Friday to Sunday only. Some listings show it open only on Saturdays and Sundays, and opening and closing times differ a little between sources, so go before lunch and check before a Friday trip.

Details can change. Check on site before you rely on hours, prices or payment.

How to order, step by step

  1. Go between 08:30 and 15:00 on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. It is closed Monday to Thursday, and the chicken can sell out early on busy days
  2. Find a seat in the dining area, then tell the staff what you want. Pointing at the dishes works fine
  3. Order one bowl of sesame oil chicken soup or sesame oil mee sua, and add a tea egg if you are hungry
  4. The broth is cooked with rice wine and tastes strongly of it, so skip it if you avoid alcohol or are driving
  5. There is no restroom inside. Diners use the one at the temple next door
  6. Sort out your ride back before you sit down. Buses are rare here, especially on weekends
What to order solo: A bowl of sesame oil chicken soup with its whole chicken leg, or the sesame oil mee sua if you want noodles, plus a tea egg. Check the posted price.
Best time to go alone: Late morning on a Friday, before the weekend lunch crowd. Saturdays and Sundays are busier, especially in the February-March cherry blossom season.

Getting there

MRT: No MRT nearby. On Fridays, bus 303 from MRT Jiantan (R15) stops at Xingnong Bridge (興農橋), a short walk away, but it runs only a few times a day and not on weekends. On Saturdays and Sundays there is no bus to the door, so a taxi from MRT Shilin (R16) or Jiantan is the simplest way. Check the timetable before you go back.
