How to visit, step by step

  1. Walk west to the very end of Minsheng West Road and go through Floodgate No. 5. Allow about 15-20 minutes from Beimen (G13) or Daqiaotou (O12)
  2. Stroll along the river path. Keep to the side, as cyclists share the path
  3. Buying something is optional. The container market opens 16:00-22:00 on weekdays and 12:00-22:00 on weekends
  4. Seats near the water fill up around sunset, especially on weekends. Fireworks and festival nights get very crowded
  5. Pair it with a daytime walk along Dihua Street, finishing here for sunset
Don't miss: Sunset over the Tamsui River from the wharf edge.
Best time to go alone: About 30-45 minutes before sunset on a weekday.
