Hai You Herbal Pork Rib Soup

海友十全排骨 · show this name to taxi drivers

A decades-old shop in the night market that does one thing: pork ribs stewed in a dark herbal broth, the kind Taiwanese call shiquan (ten-herb) soup. A bowl is a single serving, there are tables inside, and a small side of noodles or rice turns it into a meal. The herbal taste is strong, so try it only if you like that kind of flavor.

How to order, step by step

  1. Choose your soup from the price boards: pork ribs, spare ribs, lamb ribs, chicken leg or catfish
  2. Add a side of dry thin noodles or braised pork rice if you want a full meal
  3. Pay in cash
  4. Take a seat inside and put the bones in the small basket on the table - eating the ribs with your hands is normal
What to order solo: Pork rib soup (NT$120 on the October 2026 board) with a side of dry thin noodles or braised pork rice (NT$30 each). The lamb rib soup (NT$190) is richer.
Best time to go alone: Late afternoon soon after it opens at 15:00, or after 22:00. In the evening rush expect a short wait.
