A small takeaway shop on Longquan Street, in the Shida Night Market area, that makes just one thing: Shanghai-style pan-fried buns (sheng jian bao) with a crisp golden bottom. Buns are sold by the piece, so you can buy one or two as a snack on your own. It moved here from its old spot on Lane 39 of Shida Road.

How to order, step by step
- Find the shop at No. 19, Longquan Street
- Join the line - buns come off the pan in batches, so there can be a wait
- Hold up fingers for how many buns you want
- Pay in cash and take them away - there is no seating
- Add soy sauce or chili sauce if you like, and let the buns cool a little first - the filling is very hot
What to order solo: Two or three buns - about NT$15 each, or 5 for NT$60 in 2026.
Best time to go alone: Soon after it opens at 15:30, before the evening line. At busy times the wait can be 20-30 minutes.
