A beef restaurant on Tianshui Road by the old Taipei Circle, run by the third and fourth generations of a family that says it has sold beef here since 1897. It's known for curry beef fried noodles and clear beef soups, but a bowl of beef noodle soup works well on your own. How to order, step by step
- Go to No. 20 Tianshui Road, the original shop. Other Jin Chun Fa shops are run separately by relatives and have different menus
- Take a seat and tick your order on the Chinese order sheet. A Japanese menu with photos is posted near the entrance, so you can point at dishes
- For one person, order a bowl of beef noodle soup, and add rice or a plate of greens if you are hungry
- Pay in cash
What to order solo: A bowl of beef noodle soup (NT$170 on an August 2026 menu) or half-tendon, half-beef noodles (about NT$240). A clear beef-broth noodle soup without meat was NT$100. The curry beef fried noodles (about NT$220) are the house signature and also work as a meal for one. Check the posted price.
Best time to go alone: Mid-afternoon on a weekday, between lunch and dinner. Closed on Mondays.
