A compact neighborhood night market one MRT stop from Taipei 101, along Linjiang Street and the lanes off Tonghua Street. It is almost all food, popular with local office workers, and several of the best-known shops have their own seats, so it is easy to sit down for a proper dinner on your own.

How to order, step by step
- From Xinyi Anhe Station Exit 4, walk east along Tonghua Street to the corner of Linjiang Street
- Walk the whole market first - it is small
- Order one item at a time - single portions are normal
- Sit at a shop's own tables where it has them, or eat as you walk
- Pay in cash, and at stalls where you pick items yourself (such as braised snacks), ask the price before they bag it
What to order solo: Fried stinky tofu at Yakou (雅口麻辣豆腐, No. 19-1 Linjiang St., from 16:30; a plate of three was about NT$75), a small plate of stir-fried beef with rice at Luo Ji (駱記小炒, closed Tuesdays), and the hot-and-cold tangyuan dessert at Yu Pin Yuan (御品元, from 18:00 on weekdays).
Best time to go alone: 18:00-19:30 on a weekday. Weekends are busier, and stalls start closing towards midnight.
