A taro ball shop that has stood on the upper Shuqi Road steps for over 60 years, with a dining room whose windows look out across the hills to the sea. Order a single bowl at the counter, carry it through and find a window seat: one of the nicest cheap sit-downs in Jiufen.

How to order, step by step
- Climb to No. 5 on the upper part of the Shuqi Road steps, below Jiufen Elementary School
- Order at the counter by the entrance and pay in cash. It's cash only
- Choose taro ball soup (hot) or taro ball ice (cold)
- Carry your bowl along the corridor to the dining room at the back, where the window seats have the view
- Expect a wait at busy times, especially late in the afternoon
What to order solo: A mixed bowl of taro balls, hot or iced. A hot mixed bowl was about NT$60 in 2026. Check the posted price.
Best time to go alone: Weekday morning. Late afternoon is when the window seats are most popular.
