How to visit, step by step

  1. Ride bus 1062 or 965 to the end of the line at Jinguashi. The museum is at No. 8 Jinguang Road
  2. Buy a NT$80 ticket at the ticket booth or a ticket machine. Cash and cards are accepted, and the ticket covers the exhibition halls but not the hands-on activities
  3. Follow the main route past the Japanese-style houses to the Gold Building, where you can touch the giant gold bar. The site is on a hillside with many steps
  4. For Benshan Fifth Tunnel, buy a separate NT$50 ticket, put on the helmet provided at the entrance and walk about 70 m into an old gold mine
  5. The mine cart ride (NT$120) leaves about every 20 minutes and ends with a walk into the tunnel. Sales stop 5 minutes before each ride, and it doesn't run in the rain
  6. Gold panning (NT$100) is suspended until November 9, 2026. Check the museum's notices before you plan on it
Don't miss: The giant gold bar in the Gold Building and the short walk into Benshan Fifth Tunnel.
