San Jie Mei A-gei

三姐妹阿給 · show this name to taxi drivers

A long-running a-gei shop on the slope of Zhenli Street, a short walk from Fort San Domingo. A-gei is Tamsui's signature snack: a fried tofu pouch stuffed with glass noodles, sealed with fish paste and topped with a savory sauce. It opens at 06:00 and has an air-conditioned dining room, so it works as an early breakfast before the old street gets busy.

How to order, step by step

  1. Walk up Zhenli Street to Lane 2, No. 1
  2. Tell the staff what you want and whether you are eating in or taking away. Pointing at the menu works
  3. A-gei comes one per order. Fish ball soup and tianbula (fried fish cake) are the usual sides
  4. Eat in the air-conditioned dining room. There is a toilet
  5. Pay in cash
What to order solo: One a-gei (about NT$50 in 2026) with a bowl of fish ball soup makes a light meal for one. Check the posted price.
