How to order, step by step

  1. Walk into Lane 40 off Guiyang Street Section 2 and find No. 6, an old house with iron window grilles
  2. Walk in. The shop doesn't take reservations, and each person orders at least one drink
  3. Take a bar seat if you're alone, or ask about space in the basement room
  4. When it's busy, there is a two-hour limit
What to order solo: A hand-drip coffee, and a slice of chiffon cake if you want something sweet.
Best time to go alone: Weekday afternoon soon after the 12:00 opening. It closes at 19:00, so it isn't an evening stop.
