A long-running dessert shop on Taoyuan Street, across from Zhao Ji Wontons, serving soft douhua (tofu pudding), grass jelly and sweet soups such as purple rice porridge, with toppings you choose. One bowl at the counter and a small table make it an easy dessert stop on your own after a Ximending meal.

How to order, step by step
- Find No. 10 Taoyuan Street, a short walk east of Ximen Station. This is the Chengzhong branch. The 明池豆花 on Yanping South Road is a different branch
- Order at the counter. Choose douhua, grass jelly or a sweet soup, then pick your toppings. Some toppings, such as taro, cost a little more
- Pay when you order. Have cash ready
- Sit at a free table or take it away. Seats are limited
What to order solo: A bowl of douhua with toppings such as taro balls and red beans, or grass jelly with fresh milk (about NT$75 on a 2026 visit). On a cool day, try the warm purple rice porridge. Check the posted price.
Best time to go alone: A weekday afternoon. Closed on Sundays.
