The food court on the second floor of the Taipei Main Station building, taken over by Shin Kong Mitsukoshi in July 2026 (it used to be Breeze Taipei Station). Most counters sell one-person set meals and it opens at 10:00, making it the closest sit-down meal for train travelers. Some counters are changing as the new operator refits the floor.

How to order, step by step

Inside Taipei Main Station, take the escalators from the 1st-floor hall up to the 2nd floor. Older signs and maps may still say Breeze
Walk around the counters. Most sell one-person sets with rice or noodles and sides, with prices posted
At busy times, find a seat first
Order and pay at a counter. Some counters give you a buzzer that goes off when your food is ready
Collect your tray at the counter and return it when you finish

What to order solo: A set meal with rice or noodles and a couple of sides from whichever Taiwanese counter looks good. Counters change, so walk the whole floor before choosing.

Best time to go alone: Weekdays 10:00-11:30 or 14:00-17:00. Weekend and holiday mealtimes are crowded with train passengers.
